The Process.
Most permanent makeup treatments are a three part process. On your first consultation, we will discuss your treatment and options including style, results and colour. You will have a patch test and be given pre-treatment advice once we know your patch test is clear. This can be done by post to limit the number of visits to two.
You will then arrive at The Studio for your appointment, we work with you to create exactly the look you want and advice by Jo. Once you are happy with the look you are aiming to achieve, Jo begins by drawing the brows with a make up pencil. This can be drawn and adjusted as many times as necessary until you are happy with the look. Only then will Jo begin the tattoo treatment.
Using the specialist Nouveau Contour tattoo machine. A topical anaesthetic is applied to the brow area so you don’t feel any discomfort. The sensation of the machine is much like an electric toothbrush.
Jo will start by tattooing in stages checking the look with you along the way so you can add to your look if necessary. The process normally takes about 1-2 hours, but it varies from person to person depending on your individual requirements. Immediately after a brow treatment you should expect the area to look 20-30% darker than the colour you have chosen in consultation. This will start to fade after 3-4 days and can often appear dull - this is when you may experience some light scabbing - do not pick this. Use your after treatment balm twice daily as recommended for optimal results.
Once the treatment is complete. You will receive your aftercare advice and be able to book in for your retouch appointment which is between 4 to 8 weeks after your initial appointment.
This is usually a 30-60 minutes appointment to add more pigment to the treated area if you want to ad more depth to your look depending on personal preference.
